Firmly established as one of the crossover superstars of British music, the Hackney born and raised rapper otherwise known as Stephen Manderson has released two Top 3 albums and amassed a career tally of over 3 million combined sales in the UK alone.  He has completed four headline tours and performed on the main stages of countless festivals such as Glastonbury and Wireless. 

Over the past couple of years Professor Green has presented five critically acclaimed BBC documentaries and his first documentary series for Channel 4 called “Working Class White Men” which was short listed for a Grierson Award.  He’s also published his autobiography 'Lucky' which was a Sunday Times Best Seller and continues his ongoing work as Patron of anti-suicide charity CALM.

During lockdown he’s also managed to start a nutrition company called Aguulp, a Pizza company called GizNGreens and more importantly ink a new recording agreement with Cooking Vinyl Records with new music imminent.  He’s also become a proud dad and spends all of his spare time with his son, Slimane.

Castile is a highly accomplished multi-genre DJ who has enjoyed a two-decade-long career working across the UK and European party scenes for renowned club brands including Café Mambo (Ibiza), Eden (Ibiza), Ocean Beach Club (Ibiza), Printworks (London), Warehouse Project (Manchester), among many others.

As alumni of the distinguished Manchester School of Sound Recording Castile made his mark as an innovative music producer, earning the support of industry giants like Pete Tong who featured his work as an emerging artist on BBC Radio 1 when he was just 13 years old.

spencer sax

Spencer is a standout saxophonist with 16 years of professional experience, entertaining audiences globally and performing at over 100 weddings annually for the past three years.

also known as dj sax, he’s Renowned for his electric energy and engaging live show, and holds a first-class degree and a Masters in saxophone performance from the Royal Northern College of Music.

juxtapose

Juxtapose began his career at 18 with a club residency in Lancaster, before heading to Newcastle where he played across the city for some of the biggest student nights alongside Labrinth, Oliver Heldens and Felix Leiter.

He then returned to his hometown of Lancaster in 2017 to take up the Wednesday residency at LUSU's very own Sugarhouse, sharing the stage with some of the UK's best dance artists including Jax Jones, LF System, D.O.D as well as Bastille.

After 10 years in the industry, he retired in Summer 2023 with Fylde Extrav being his very last gig, but Juxtapose will be returning to campus for one night only!

Bjorn to Be – ABBA tribute are made up of highly trained musicians and performers with many years of experience within the music industry. They have been performing ABBA’s incredible catalogue of music for over 10 years and have all worked extensively within theatre and the arts. Their diverse background and collective experience in the incredible industry of music and show business gives them a certain edge above many others.

Band leader and founding member Emma Parker has been performing as Agnetha for over 20 years including performing in the West End.

THEY BEGAN GIGGING LOCALLY IN LANCASTER & BLACKPOOL WHERE THEY SERIOUSLY IMPRESSED, GAINING RAVE REVIEWS FOR BOTH THEIR SONGWRITING AND ENERGETIC LIVE PERFORMANCES. A STEADY STREAM OF GIGS FOLLOWED, ALLOWING THE BOYS TO BRANCH OUT AND GIG ALL OVER THE COUNTRY. AS THEY BEGAN TO SPREAD, THEY FOUND A NEW MUSICAL HOME IN MANCHESTER, WHERE MOST OF THEIR CENTRAL FAN BASE RESIDES, CONFIRMED BY THEIR SOLD OUT MANCHESTER HEADLINE SHOW IN LATE 2023.

Paragon are a 6-piece indie rock band who have grown a strong backing and dedicated crowd across campus with their popular covers and developing original sound.

meet Chicago Sunroof, a new student band bringing you covers of the best Rock, Indie and Alternative songs. with Alex (1st year computer science) on guitar and vocals, Nathan (1st year chemistry) on bass and Logan (1st year chemistry) on drums. Since we formed a few month ago we have played gigs around campus and in town. If you enjoy bands like Queens of the Stone Age, the Jimi Hendrix Experience and the Pixies, you’ll love this band!

Introducing Citrus Tax! They are a female fronted indie rock band based in Lancaster. Formed a year ago, they are a vibrant group of 5 (sometimes 6!) students bringing you your favourite tunes performed live - catch them at this year's Summer ball!

Rachel and the Rest are a rock band who perform original songs and we add their own sound to covers, turning familiar songs into something punchier and memorable. With four members, they love being on stage and can't wait to get people on their feet and rocking out to their music.
